Inshore fishing is heating up. We are starting to see a few nice Flounder, Red Fish and Speckled Trout while fishing around the islands and docks in the Cape Fear River. We are having the most success using live baits such as Menhaden and Mud Minnows on Carolina and Float Rigs.
Right off the beach at some of our near shore reefs we are catching Flounder, Bluefish, Seabass and a few Grey Trout. Remember you can’t keep any Seabass until June 1st. While trolling right off the beach we’ve been catching nice size Spanish Mackerel and false Albacore.
